Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Peter Drucker

1) What was the general theme or argument of the book? The general theme of this books relies on how to grow as an entrepreneur, I liked reading this book because it highlights different stages of entrepreneurial practices. It opens up to show the reader how to analyze opportunities, invest in those opportunities, and find good strategies to keep innovating 2) How did the book, in your opinion, connect with and enhance what you are learning in ENT 3003? This book connects well with this class because it shows the need for innovation in society. It highlights how to know a market, find a niche, and try to be the leader in the segment you chose to develop your business. 3) If you had to design an exercise for this class, based on the book you read, what would that exercise involve? If I had to design an exercise for this class based on the book it would consist of developing “innovative” ideas for an exciting company in order to help it grow and evade bankruptcy. It would be a change in the industry structure in order to stay in the market For example: How to save a struggling mom and pop swimsuit store in the middle of a pandemic? Change production to creating face masks to adjust to market needs. 4) What was your biggest surprise or 'aha' moment when reading the book? In other words, what did you learn that differed most from your expectations? My biggest take away from reading this book was how to apply innovation. Drucker helps the reader realize that innovation can start small, should be systematic and you should always try to be a good leader. A great emphasis that he also makes is that failure demands for you to listen, it should always be taken as an opportunity rather than a mistake
